Our Story...

In 1951, Dr. Kanin, a young practicing veterinarian in a Boston suburb, was experiencing a heavy infestation of hornets and flies from an adjacent farm. These insects that were covering the screens and the windows of the animal hospital and were entering the hospital as the door was opened. Dr. Kanin began experimenting with various insecticides. He finally formulated a mixture that when applied to the screens, windows and the ceiling eliminated the bug problem. The residual action lasted for weeks! This product became Lynwood's Screen and Surface, which consumers find to be 100% effective.

Dr. Kanin in collaboration with an aerosol company, invented a unit that would shoot long distance, thus affording the user protection against stings. This product became the popular Shoofly Hornet and Wasp. Hundreds of calls come every year requesting our Shoofly Hornet and Wasp. One caller stated, "I have used every product for hornets, and yours is the best."

In 1952, Dr. Kanin started Lynwood Laboratories and with the help of his wife, Doris, who designed the labels and handled the business end. Additional products were added to the line and their popularity grew. Improvements on all the products continue so that Dr. Kanin is confident that his product line is the best product that is made of its kind.

Although there have been imitations, Lynwood Laboratories' products are still the best products available.
