Associates and friends of Leonardo refer to him as a renaissance
man. He prefers to think of himself as a creative person with a restless
mind.
Starting in grammar school, his artwork was chosen every year to be exhibited in the local museum during the annual, citywide Public School Art Competition. He also began studying music at the prestigious Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester when he was five. This presented a hard choice upon high school graduation-art school or music school? Leonardo attended The Berklee College of Music and went on to become a professional musician, recording artist and songwriter. During the late 60's and early 70's he shared the stage with notables such as BB King, Sly & The Family Stone, Rod Stewart, The Allman Brothers, Steve Windwood and Traffic, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, The J Giles Band, Aerosmith -and many others. Unfortunately, he did not become rich or famous and found life on the road to be less glamorous than he expected. After attending Northeast Broadcasting School and majoring in journalism at Suffolk University, he went on to a successful, 25-year advertising career as a writer, creative director, broadcast producer and jingle writer. During that time, he wrote his first novel, which is still in search of a publisher. A few years ago, his restless nature caught up with him again. He
attended The Chamberlyne School of Design evenings and rekindled his
love of art. Leonardo is now devoting all of his energies to artistic
endeavors. |
